Ziggy

Matilda has a boyfriend. His name is Ziggy. He is as old as she is, which is not old at all. At the writing of this blog entry, they are both five and a half months old. She resisted him at first. After all, she is a lady. But soon, loves was in the air.
Here is Ziggy with his mom, Kathryn.

Here we are working with my mom at home.

We played all morning, then slept in Ziggy's bed.

Then played all afternoon and slept in my bed
I've been looking out the window, wondering when he'll come next

Time Flies

Matilda has been so busy growing up, she hasn't had a lot of time for blogging. Here come a few of the main events in the time that has passed since the last post.

I got kissed profusely in Sonoma (that's Tess)

Then read a bunch of books
And took a break

Celebrated Easter in style (like my bunny?)

Went shopping at The Home Depot

And found a brand new lap (Katie's!)

Boys

Exhibit 1
Exhibit 2

Boys are a special category of human, one that Matilda, in her long four months in this world, had yet to encounter.

That absence was remedied last weekend, with the visit of Exhibit 1 (Siler) and Exhibit 2 (Griffin).

At first, they seemed nice and quiet.

Do not trust this picture

But soon the truth came out.

Trust this one

As the day went by, though, two personalities came out.

I fell in love with Griffin (remember Exhibit 2?)

But Siler (Exhibit 1) resisted my charms

The whole family took Matilda for a walk up the hill.

I pretended to like it

By early evening, Miss Matilda was exhausted, but happy.

I guess boys are not so bad after all. But I prefer their mommy.

Orejona

The aristocrats of the Inca empire displayed status through the length of their ears. They poked holes in them to make them grown long. The Spaniards called them "orejones" - big eared men. Here are pictures of my little "orejona" princess, proof that the Inca lineage is alive and well.

when I was little, one ear pointed up, the other down

look here, how cute I look waking up with my perky ears...

now that I'm bigger (5 lbs), they always point up

Sonoma Tails

Matilda and I visited our friends in Sonoma about a week ago. It turns out we were not the only ones to love the place, to love our best friend, Joey.

Lena and Joey - Me and Joey

Sonoma Love

We looooove it there!

Hey Joey, when can I come back?

Eight Laps and a Sweater

Matilda loves laps.

Lady laps: Kathryn and Michele and Lesly and Terri and Diane

Mommy's lap

Young laps (my favorites!): Tess and Paulina

And the sweater: Ted

Looking forward to sitting on your lap, too.

Transportation

Matilda weighs about 4 lbs now. She gets to go places without moving a muscle.

Mommy uses a pink purse and a blue backpack to carry me. She needs to go shopping.

My first week, I fit in mommy's housecoat pocket. I still do. And this is how I travel by car.

As you can see, Matilda's life is quite difficult. Yet she manages to look gorgeous no matter what.

First Days

Matilda was born on a friday the 13th, in December, and came home with me February 26, 2014. My little Jack Russell / Chihuahua giant-in-the-making was two months, two weeks old. She was not house trained and had no idea how to walk on a leash.

I'm very tiny
Can you see me?
I work on a mac ?

I didn't do much of anything my first few days. Life was perfect. Not sure who this woman in the picture is?

And I'm very, very curious
